Ashraful Alam Kumarkhali Correspondent: After getting the news that he has been in love with another girl for a year and a half, he went on a hunger strike demanding marriage at his boyfriend’s house. The incident took place at Char Chapra village of Chapra union in Kumarkhali upazila of Kushtia this morning.
Her boyfriend Alek is said to be the son of Siddiqur Rahman of the area and Premika (18) is a class X student of Nandanalpur Secondary School in Nandanalpur Union of the upazila.
At noon, the schoolgirl went to Alek’s house and sat on the verandah stairs. Hanging locks in every room of the house. The people of the house including the boyfriend are on the run. The starving lover said, “I live in my grandmother’s house.”
Alec’s uncle’s house next to his grandmother’s house. Alec used to come to his uncle’s house regularly. At one stage a love affair developed between them. Love has been going on for about a year and a half.
“Alec has promised to marry me but suddenly I hear in public that he is getting married on Friday,” she said. So I have been fasting since morning to demand marriage. If I don’t get married, I will commit suicide.
In this regard, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kumarkhali Police Station Kamruzzaman Talukder said, “I have received news of a schoolgirl’s demand for marriage.” However, no written complaint was received.
According to the Department of Health, the number of AIDS mosquito-borne dengue cases and deaths has increased in a day. Three more people have died of the virus in the last 24 hours; In August, 33 people died of dengue. The total number of deaths this year is 45.
According to the Department of Health, no patients have died of the disease in the first six months of this year. However, due to the increase in the number of patients since July, 45 people have died of dengue in the last two months.
Dengue detection and death were on the rise in early August, but have been declining in recent days. The health department has not reported any deaths in the last three days.
However, with the arrival of new death reports on Wednesday, the number of identified patients has also increased.
As many as 295 dengue patients have been admitted to various hospitals across the country till 8 am on Wednesday, the department said. The day before, the number was 26 people.
Of the 250 new victims, 45 have been admitted to hospitals in Dhaka and outside Dhaka.
